I have worked with Tracey for a long time, starting with a static website that Tracey updated for me regularly. When I decided I wanted to focus more on marketing my art and to building my network, I talked with her about setting up a blog as part of my site. Instead of working with the static site we had, Tracey suggested that we revamp the entire site into a Wordpress site. I chose the template I wanted, told Tracey the changes I wanted to make to it to make it “mine” and we decided which pages I needed for my site to be a sales and marketing tool. We created a very clean site that both visually pleasing and highlights my artwork. With very little practical knowledge of website management, I am able to update the site as frequently as I wish without incurring a fee for upkeep. I have saved hundreds of dollars on web updates and I get to have a hassle-free blog and gallery that rank high in search engines.

the artist's blog package

The Artist's Blog package is based on a scenario I devised at artsyfran.com. The site is a blog, which has additional pages the artist uses for static content. The home page of her site is where her current entries reside. She hosts all images on her Flickr account ($24.95 a year) and links to them from her blog. See Fran's testimonial to the left.

This package includes:

  • Wordpress Blog setup and configuration, including your choice of theme and necessary adjustments to that theme
  • Up to 3 Wordpress widgets, such as Akismet spam comment control, Flickr gallery widget or any other tool to help customize your blog the way you want to use it!
  • Up to 2 hours of phone training on how to update your blog and pages and how to use any installed widgets

A flat rate of $700 gets you a low-cost, good-looking website that will save you ongoing maintenance costs because you can update it yourself! In addtion, the benefit of the blog is that once you start blogging and building your network, you'll encourage inbound links to your site. Inbound links are very important when it comes to the search engines.

Extra costs (or you can do these things yourself!)

Please note:

  • Artist should set up photosharing at Flickr or other photosharing account. Eeep! productions highly recommends Flickr
  • Coppermine photo gallery software is available for installation on your server (see hosting page for extra costs) if you don't want to use a commercial photosharing site to store your photos. Please be aware that storing photos on your site will require a larger hosting package than the Jemits or Jemits Plus! packages.
